In Memory of Howard T. Cohn
Howard Ted Cohn, ASA, MAAA, was born on March 21, 1929. He passed away at home on June 23, 2008.
Cohn attended the College of William and Mary. He then took courses at the University of Michigan, focusing on actuarial subjects. He worked as an actuary his entire career. He was the chief actuary for Bankers National Life Insurance Company for 13 years. He was then hired by ITT Corporation as its chief actuary for 13 years. His last two employers were Armco Insurance and Tillinghast, Nelson & Warren, respectively.
He was an excellent father and husband. His first son, Irwin Michael, works in insurance. His second son, Jeffery Sheldon, is an actuary.
Cohn spent his retirement in Florida where he enjoyed bridge, golf and happy days with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Adele; his two sons, Irwin and Jeffery; and three grandchildren, Elissa Lee, Jeremy Brian and Tiffany Lee.
