Deceased Members–2008
In Memory of James P. Turner
James Paul Turner, FSA, of Novato died suddenly at age 43 on April 22, 2008. He was born in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia. He spent his entire professional life in the actuarial business, most recently working for Kaiser Permanente as chief actuary.
He loved spending time playing the guitar, singing and listening to all types of music. News, political programs, and genealogical research were his other passions. Turner's fascination for maps and geography resulted in many fabulous vacations with his family. He played on an indoor soccer team and was known for his wit and sense of humor. He attended a men's group regularly and was very grateful for the love and support he received there, and also from his church family at St. Francis Church.
Turner was a very special father, husband and friend, and he will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Turner. He leaves behind his wife Laura, and two sons, Roland and Raymond; his mother, Mary Turner; six siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
