In Memory of Yuan Chang

Former Board of Governor's member Yuan Chang, FSA, MAAA, EA, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2005. Yuan's contributions to the SOA were far-reaching, including mentoring many young FSAs in Asia. He may best be remembered for championing the development of the Hong Kong Joint Office, the formation of both the China and Southeast Asia Committees and the original Nankai University agreement. He served on the BOG from 1990-93 and again as vice president from 1995-97. He also wrote several articles for The Actuary newsletter, The Record, Transactions and International News, the International Section newsletter. Donations can be sent to:
