In Memory of R. Larry Peterson

R. Larry Peterson died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 following a brief illness. He was 71.

Peterson attended the State University of New York at Fredonia, graduating with a B.S. degree in science in 1961. After graduation, he became interested in actuarial work. He passed the examinations, attaining fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 1970. Thereafter, he earned the designation as a chartered life underwriter and was a fellow of the Life Management Institute. He retired from insurance work in 2004. The years he served as an actuary included service with several companies, and most recently was an instructor of mathematics at Jamestown Community College.

Peterson is survived by his wife, Myrt; daughters Lizbeth, Jennifer and Stephanie; son Matthew; sister Dorothy; brother Vernon and nine grandchildren.
