Michael Watanabe
Michael is from Mililani, HI and obtained his ASA in September 2006. He graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in May 2005. He is currently an Actuarial Analyst at Pacific Guardian Life Insurance, located in Honolulu, HI, where he is responsible for various analyses and projects related to financial reporting, valuation and financial modeling for the company.
In his spare time, Michael occasionally enjoys participating in soccer, golf and tutors students and friends in various levels of mathematics.
Ashwini Vaidya
Ashwini graduated from Rutgers College with a BA in Math and Economics. She has worked in a variety of roles through internships, at MetLife, and now at Milliman Inc, including ALM, Group Annuity Product Pricing and Management, Internal Audit, International Actuarial Oversight and now in Valuation.
Ashwini Vaidya likes people. She enjoys working with people to address and find unique solutions to the concerns and issues that are most important to them. Meeting people, learning about them and what they do, and sharing the information she has with them, are all very rewarding to her.
She is always up for trying new foods, meeting new people and trying new things, and is willing to travel to do so. In her free time, she has recently been teaching a jump rope drills class.
Jennifer McGinnis
Jennie is an Assistant Vice President with Swiss Re Life & Health America, working in their Fort Wayne, IN office. She currently works in the Risk & Actuarial Management area, where her primary focus is control cycle management. Prior to her current role she completed a rotation as a marketing actuary, working to develop new business initiatives, and in the actuarial resources department, where she assisted with the building and peer reviewing of pricing models.
Jennie joined Swiss Re upon earning her master's degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa. She completed her bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics at Ferris State University. Jennie is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She also currently serves as a Councilmember with the Actuary of the Future Section. Jennie enjoys reading, playing volleyball, singing with her church choir, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Mary Pat Campbell
Mary Pat is a Vice President at The Infinite Actuary, currently teaching their online and live seminars for the SOA Advanced Finance and Enterprise Risk Management exam. Before joining TIA, she worked at TIAA–CREF in asset/liability modeling and actuarial consulting services. She has written a variety of articles for SOA publications (namely, The Stepping Stone, CompAct, and The Future Actuary), and has a special interest in spreadsheet risks and operational risks in numerical programming. She has B.S. degrees in math and physics from North Carolina State University, and an M.S. in applied math from New York University.
Mary Pat is very interested in the potential of Web 2.0, being an active member of YouTube (one of her channels is Meep's Math Matters–short, fun math lectures), Twitter (meepbobeep), Facebook, LinkedIn, and the Actuarial Outpost (campbell).
