Call for Volunteers
All LTCI Section Activities are driven by volunteers. Volunteering
provides a great opportunity for section members to get involved in section
activities, network with others and develop leadership skills. Volunteers are
needed in several areas:
- Contribute an article to the Long-Term Care Insurance Section
Newsletter.
Articles can be as short as a few paragraphs or as long as several pages. They
may cover a single thought or idea, may be technical, may deal with practical
issues, may be controversial and opinionated or may be just informational. If
you have a specific thought or idea for an article, share it with the LTCI
Newsletter editor, Bruce Stahl by emailing him at
bstahl@rgare.com.
- Moderate or Speak at an SOA meeting
The LTCI Section sponsors the Annual LTCI Intercompany Conference as well as
sessions at the Spring and Annual Society of Actuaries meetings. Volunteers are
needed to recruit for and coordinate sessions and to speak on issues relevant
to the LTCI industry.
- Serve on the LTCI Section Council
The LTCI Section Council consists of nine members, each serving a three-year
term. Every year, three new members are elected. Council members oversee the
activities of the section and coordinate sessions at the SOA meetings. The
Council usually meets once each month in a conference call.
To volunteer for a specific activity or to be notified of
volunteer opportunities please e-mail Bart
Munson, Volunteer Coordinator. Indicate the type of activity you are
interested in or ask to be placed on the list of possible volunteers.
