Description: This article describes the results of a survey of 27 members of the Society holding nontraditional jobs. These actuaries were contacted by the Society’s Career Encouragement Committee’s Subcommittee on Actuarial Opportunities, and the results are interesting. All of the individuals have maintained their membership, yet some of them are in fields which are not very actuarial, such as physician and one who builds restaurants for a fast food chain.
