The Taxation Section is currently in the middle of planning for the year 2022. We try to be true to our purpose, which is to advance the actuarial profession by assisting members and affiliates with the education, networking and other specialized needs that arise in matters related to taxation including those related to life insurance companies, insurance and annuity products, and employee benefit plans.

The section is planning to cover important topics such as

  • Legislative changes
  • Company related changes
  • International Tax
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Investment Taxation
  • Property and Casualty and Health Tax

More specifically, we will be on the watch for the latest developments with

  • Build Back Better Act
  • International Minimum Tax
  • IRS Priority Guidance Plan

If you can attend the LIMRA/LOMA/ACLI/SOA life insurance conference in Florida on April 25–27, we will present a session around product development updates due to 7702 changes.

Finally, the section is always looking for volunteers to help coordinate all our activities. If you are interested, feel free to contact me.
