ImpACT 2023: Where Insights, Connections, and Fun Meet
The 2023 SOA ImpACT Conference wasn't just the largest gathering of actuaries - it was a vibrant hub of learning, networking, and celebrating the profession's future. Over 2,300 actuaries and professionals from 39 countries gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana, both virtually and in-person, creating an inspiring exchange of ideas and connections.

Building a Collaborative Network
From workshops to expo halls, ImpACT fostered a dynamic environment where members, candidates, and thought leaders shared knowledge and tackled shared challenges. Attendees actively engaged with speakers, panelists, and exhibitors, exploring the latest innovations and honing their skills to navigate the evolving actuarial landscape.
Engaging with Pressing Topics
The conference delved into critical industry issues, sparking thought-provoking discussions and encouraging interactivity. Keynote speaker Luke Williams, Professor, NYU Stern School of Business; Founder and Executive Director of the NYU Innovation Lab; Fellow, at Frog Design; and International Bestselling Author, Disrupt, gave an exciting discussion on disruptive technologies and what’s coming next. Our virtual keynote speaker, Elatia Abate, Entrepreneur and Chief Explorer, explored the first energetic revolution and how to empower yourself. Throughout the event, attendees explored trending topics, celebrated outstanding volunteers, and witnessed the prestigious presidential handover ceremony.
Engaging and Enjoyable: Exploring the Fun at ImpACT 2023
ImpACT wasn't just about the informative sessions - it offered the perfect blend of work and fun. Attendees reveled in the vibrant Indianapolis community during ImpACT Fest, enjoying fast-paced racecar driving and delicious food with colleagues. Early risers embraced wellness by participating in yoga and High-Interval Intensity Training (HIIT), fostering community spirit and invigorating minds and bodies.
Giving Back
The conference upheld the SOA's commitment to social responsibility. In partnership with Pack Away Hunger, SOA Cares facilitated the packaging of meals for members of the Indianapolis community in need. Together, attendees and the SOA generously contributed over $2,800 and packed 10,800 meals for an impactful cause.

At the Society of Actuaries (SOA), our goal is for all members to have equitable opportunities
to grow and succeed in our chosen profession. The Scholarship Program is designed to offset financial barriers to attend the SOA’s 2023 ImpACT Conference.
Scholarship Criteria:
- Received your ASA less than five years ago
- Member of one of the participating Sections/Community
- Not receiving employer support for your attendance at the meetings
- First-time attendee at ImpACT

Join us for this complimentary lunch session for networking, a keynote presentation on diversity in the actuarial community, and highlighting the diversity initiatives of local Indianapolis insurance companies.
